Important message about the COVID-19 Coronavirus

In an effort to care for all of our personnel, families, and mission around the world, EMI has been taking a number of steps in response to the progress of COVID-19.

Location-specific Crisis Management Teams remain in place to monitor COVID developments, inform, and care for EMI personnel. Decisions about official EMI travel (including project travel) domestically and internationally are being made on a case-by-case basis by Office Directors in locations concerned. EMI’s worldwide offices remain in varying states of closure with personnel working remotely or from home.

We continue to actively monitor the situation and will respond to new information affecting our worldwide ministry and teams. We view the COVID-19 Coronavirus as an opportunity to live out the gospel and our faith in Jesus through the ministry of EMI.

February 14 - 29

The Syrian Civil War began in 2011, and continues today. The war has devastated the people of Syria, and has displaced millions of refugees. 1.5 million Syrian refugees fled to Lebanon, placing a huge burden on the country. Today, Lebanon has the highest per capita refugee population in the world, with 1 refugee for every 4 nationals.

The True Vine Baptist Church (TVC) seeks to bring a message of love and reconciliation in a bloody land. Their hope is to be a lighthouse to people lost in a sea of darkness, and their prayer is to see the peace of Christ prevailing in the Middle East.

If you are looking for bad news, go to the worldly media. If you are looking for good news, come see what Christ is doing in Lebanon. TVC has hundreds of amazing stories that prove miracles are still being performed among us. The sick are being healed miraculously, the lost are seeing dreams and visions from Jesus, and the sinners are coming back to the Lord.

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." Isaiah 9:2

Will you join the True Vine Baptist Church in their mission to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the Middle East?

Project Scope

The True Vine Baptist Church currently operates a variety of programs for the poor, marganilzed and refugee populations of Lebanon.  These programs include educational and social activities, leisure for children, food programs, sanitation projects, health care, and spiritual & cultural programs for families.  Their current ministries serve 4,500 families in their community.  They currently operate these progrems on three seperate sites, and risk loosing leases on the rented properties.

TVC's vision is to consolidate all these programs to a single site.  A new site will allow them to minimize long term operating costs and give them the room to expand exisiting ministries and launch new ministries.

The church has requested the master plan that will include a KG - 12 school for 1,500 students, a conference center, and a social center for all of their community programs.  Our scope of work will include programming for the entire site, and conceptual design for the 1st phase of construction.

Our team will complete a topographic survey of the 2.2 hectare (5.5 acre) site to facilitate the master planning process.

The master plan will include structural conceptual designs for proposed buildings.  The project site is located in a seismic zone.

Our team will evaluate sustainable water supply options, and design the water supply and wastewater facilities for the site.  There are two existing wells onsite.

The project site is a relatively flat agricultural field that receives receives 700 mm (27") of precipatation annual.  Our site master plan will include provisions for storm water management.

Primary power supply is available from the local utility, but the power is very un-reliable and will require onsite power generation.
