Trust for Africa and Faith Foundation is looking to develop a Children and Family Ministry Campus in Mohale's Hoek, Lesotho.
The Trust for Africa is a Christian child protection agency that works on two fronts: intervention and prevention. Since opening the home in 2012, more than 140 children have come through their doors, and currently they have 26 children under their care. Since 2015 when they introduced Trauma Informed Care Training, they have trained close to 500 community care members, orphanage staff, teachers, social workers, officers in the police and justice systems, and others - reaching more than 12 000 children directly.
The heart of Trust for Africa is to provide continued care for children in need of temporary emergency care, as well as a center for family strengthening, which will serve the community of Mohale’s Hoek and its surrounding context.
This center will facilitate family counselling, referrals to other service providers, parenting classes, marriage & conflict resolution, financial literacy & planning, and Bible studies; as well as additional administrative offices and staff & volunteer housing. The scope for our project team will be to assess the site, provide a master plan layout of the campus development, create 3D visualization drawings and images, and provide conceptual design drawings for buildings and engineering systems to meet the ministry's goals and vision.
The hope and vision is that this land - which was donated by the local council of Mohale's Hoek in 2019 - will be a place of healing where children and families who have faced the unimaginable can receive ministry of healing, redemption and restoration.
