EMI is excited to continue a long-lasting partnership with the Galmi Hospital in Niger through providing an updated hospital master plan. The Galmi Hospital was established 70 years ago, and has been an incredible witness to Christ's compassion by providing medical and surgical care in a remote area of Niger. As the need for care has grown, the facilities on the campus have become overcrowded and are in desperate need of expansion. An expanded campus will allow Galmi Hospital to provide a higher quality and quantity of care, reaching more people with a message of love and compassion lived out through the care they provide on a daily basis.

Project Scope

Our EMI team will provide an updated master plan for the hospital campus, as well as conceptual building designs for the next phase of buildings. This will also include civil assessments of existing water and wastewater systems, as well as structural evaluations of several existing buildings on the hospital site.

Located on the south edge of the Sahara desert in Niger, West Africa, Galmi provides compassionate care to Nigeriens from all walks of life and serves as a training center for surgical residents from several African countries through the PAACS program. Galmi provides many services, including surgery, malnutrition treatment & education, maternity care, dental care, physical therapy, and an outpatient clinic for men, women, and children.

Less than 50% of people in Niger have access to medical care, with the number even lower in a remote town like Galmi. Galmi Hospital has been faithfully providing medical care to the least-served in Niger for nearly 70 years, proclaiming Christ's love to every patient who passes through their gates.

We are looking to mobilize a team of EMI staff and several volunteers to Niger in mid-May or early June to meet with the hospital leadership and staff and work towards an updated masterplan for this campus.

Will you prayerfully consider joining us in designing a world of hope for Galmi Hospital?
