February 2022

Hope Africa University (HAU) in Bujumbura, Burundi attracts students from many schools and 14 countries of the world. EMI is privileged to come alongside HAU to document and assess their infrastructure and develop an understanding of HAU's goals for growth for the foreseeable future.

Project Scope

This will likely be the first of at least two project trips.  In this first project, the EMI team will document the existing campus in terms of existing building floorplans, water, wastewater, and electrical utilities; and perform a visual structural review of the existing buildings. In addition, the team will document space utilization and the desired changes for each department of the university. The goal of this first project is to develop a good understanding of the existing campus, its opportunities and constraints, and the university’s goals for the next several years. This information will guide EMI’s second project team to develop the facility master plan, phasing and conceptual design of select buildings.

We plan to mobilize a team of EMI staff and volunteers to Burundi for a 2 week trip in February.  Will you prayerfully consider using your gifts and talents to serve Hope Africa University?  Click "I'm interested" above if you would like more information.
