AO AgriTech Business High School Master Plan, South Africa

After witnessing the lack of quality educational opportunities in South Africa's Mpumalanga province, Alpha and Omega School (AO) was founded out of a desire to provide quality English education to all children, regardless of race or social status. AO ministry leaders have developed a heart for the education and welfare of the people of Mpumalanga and have been faithfully providing pre-school and primary school education. Now, they have decided to extend their service in the community by establishing the first English-medium agricultural school in Mpumalanga.

Project Scope

The Alpha and Omega AgriTech Business School will focus on building and practically applying skills in agriculture, business, and technology, with an underlying Christian ethos. Their goal is to guide learners in using technology to farm and to empower them with business skills in order to become successful entrepreneurs. Situated just off a main highway in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa and near a local agricultural hub, AO has purchased 30 hectares of land for the development of the school campus, and they have been leased an additional 110 hectares for farming.

For this reason, AO is looking for EMI's assistance with professional design of the school, beginning with a master plan of the property and concept design of the facilities. The team will be made up of architects, planners, engineers, and surveyors working together to develop an overall master plan, conceptual civil services design (water, wastewater, and site drainage), conceptual electrical services design (power generation and distrubution), conceptual architectural design, and a complete survey.
