Ekisa Ministry’s vision is to provide access to the services that disabled children need to thrive in life because they are made in the image of God who dearly loves them. In Uganda, one out of ten children lives with a disability and a majority cannot access necessary services. Ekisa has been operating for the past 12 years out of a rented home, temporary offices and shared spaces. The programs have now grown too large to accomplish the ministry goals effectively without moving to a dedicated and larger space designed for people with disabilities.
Project Scope
Ekisa has recently purchased a seven-acre tract of land that was previously used for agriculture. Ekisa’s vision is to build a permanent main campus for their ministry on this land to serve the over one hundred disabled children that are currently in their program and for future growth. EMI USA will partner with Ekisa Ministries to provide a master plan for the site that includes residential homes, school, community center, and office buildings with recommendations for site drainage, water and wastewater systems, and electrical supply and distribution systems. EMI will also provide a conceptual design for a school building.
The EMI team will work on a full report based on the team’s findings and recommendations and deliver that to Ekisa Ministries 2-3 months after returning from the project trip.
EMI is excited to partner with Ekisa Ministries as they pursue God's vision for their ministry and to serve the disabled children in their community. Please prayerfully consider joining this team to make the project a success!
