Located in Kampala, Uganda the current school rents a multi-storey building that enrolls about 150 students and a staff body of 20 members.

Project Scope

With the foundation set, Precious Ones leadership has expressed the desire to prepare for a huge organizational shift by building a new boarding school campus 70km west of Kampala that will carry on the legacy and vision of the existing International Christian School. The vision and inspiration cast from the students will play a pivotal role in what the new campus will look like. Two words to describe the character of the new campus is “BOUNDLESS EXCELLENCE”.

Precious Ones is looking to partner with EMI to prepare the conceptual new campus master plan that will guide them in the next steps of development in the new campus.

Project Scope:

1. Conceptual Architectural Design. Provide overall schematic dimensioning of building designs (floor plans, elevations and basic renderings) for phased buildings as determined in the architectural programming process. Considerations for building placement, conceptual landscaping, access roads, and site planning to be included.

2. Conceptual Civil Design. Provide overall water and wastewater systems for campus master plan on remote site with no municipal connections. Conducting geotechnical testing using EMI provided hand-auger borehole tools. Stormwater drainage design for conceptual runoff flows and potential consideration, if any, for site drainage and ditches. Junior Civil applicant to have drafting proficiency in AutoCAD for production of site drawings and figures for final report.

3. Conceptual Electrical Design. Provide overall calculation of electrical loads and phasing of electrical demand for all proposed campus master plan buildings. Prepare plans detailing routing and sizing of sitewide electrical distribution network and backup power locations. Investigate options for remote power systems such as solar.

4. Conceptual Structural Design. Provide conceptual structural designs of all proposed campus master plan buildings and provide technical guidance and input to the architectural programming process.

I look forward to hearing of your interest to join the EMI team. We need you. The time is now!
