EMI is excited to partner with Healing Hands International to develop a masterplan and concept design for a new medical clinic and accommodation in the under resourced community of Cristo Rey, Nicaragua.

Project Scope

Healing Hands oversees an established medical clinic found in the Cristo Rey (Christ the King) community, about half an hour north of the capital Managua.

The mission of the Healing Hands Clinic is to reach the community of Cristo Rey with the Gospel, healthcare, educational outreaches, vital skills training, nutrition support and more. The community was founded when the population surrounding and working in the Managua’s La Chureca landfill site was rehoused ahead of its closure, over 10 years ago. The clinic is currently making the most of borrowed facilities that are in poor condition, and is in need of new facilities to ensure the ongoing provision of quality healthcare and to provide accommodation for its Nicaraguan health care professionals.

The ministry has purchased an undeveloped site of almost 2 acres, located close to the existing facilities. EMI will be developing a masterplan for the new property and concept designs for the new clinic and accommodation. Engineering assessments and recommendations for water and wastewater, stormwater management, structural engineering and electrical utility services will be included in this project in support of the masterplan. A structural assessment of the existing facilities is also required.

Would you prayerfully consider joining us in partnering with Healing Hands Ministries for this important work to serve the Cristo Rey community in Central America?
