It is an honor and a privilege to partner with the Church of God for the preliminary design of a foster home for vulnerable children in Senegal. The project is called Maison de Vie, which means House of Life, to bring hope and the joy of the Lord to young lives struggling with poverty, abandonment and being orphaned. We will serve this ministry by developing a master plan and preliminary design for their new campus.
Project Scope
This project is led by a Latin American couple who care for youth and children in vulnerable situations. They envision a campus with a church (which is already built), an office, a dining hall, 2 classrooms, a workshop and a house for children and leaders. The site is located in Nianing, a coastal area located in the south of Senegal, called “La Petite Côte”.
Their work touches the lives of many children. In addition to the 50 children and teens directly served by the program, they host children's clubs in two surrounding communities, reaching over 200 children weekly with the Gospel. The campus will be a location that will allow them to not only better serve the children but also expand their activities and impact the village in which they will be located.
Our team has formulated this project trip as a “project week”, simplifying the regular format since the site is in the same area where the EMI office is located. This will allow us to be more present with the ministry for a longer period of time, so that the work of a project week will be focused on very specific tasks with the entire team present. We are very thankful to be able to serve with Maison de Vie to bless the lives of many children in this region of Senegal.
