The overall scope of the project is to assess the existing building, along with the existing water, wastewater, structural and electrical systems of SIL Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan.
Project Scope
EMI has a long-standing relationship with SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics). After partnering with SIL Senegal in 2021, EMI was referred to help assess and provide recommendations for other SIL facilities in West Africa.
SIL Côte d'Ivoire is an non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to the development of local languages. Their vision is to see everyone flourish in their communities by using the languages that speak most to their hearts. SIL's core areas of contribution are Scripture translation, literacy, education, development, linguistic research and language tools.
EMI has been asked to send a team of specialists to review their campus. They currently have major water and plumbing issues, structural concerns, and questions about the future. EMI has been invited to assemble a team of architects and engineers to consider improvements and future plans.
