We are excited to work with AIC Litein Hospital and the Institute for Global Healthcare Missions (IGHM) to provide an infrastructure assessment and master plan update for the hospital, which has been serving the people of the Kericho County region of Kenya for the last 100 years. Litein Hospital is committed to serving their community through the provision of quality, affordable, sustainable, and holistic health services, and their vision is to be a preferred Christian centre of excellence in healthcare, training, and research. Unfortuntately, the hospital's infrastructure systems, including water, wastewater, electrical, and solid waste, are unable to meet their current demands, which poses a challenge to the hospital's day-to-day effectiveness and limits their future growth. The development of an infrastructure upgrade concept design and master plan will support the hospital in improving the quality of their care and planning for long-term sustainability.
Project Scope
The scope for our project team will be to assess the existing water, wastewater, electrical and solid waste management infrastructure, update the campus master plan, and develop conceptual-level recommendations for infrastructure improvements to serve the current and future hospital facilities.
This scope includes:
Collaborate with Litein leadership to develop design solutions based on their needs and priorities;
Assess local building codes (as available), materials of construction, existing facilities, site conditions and other constraints/opportunities to complete conceptual design recommendations;
Develop the hospital campus master plan including site layout of all future buildings, walkways and major site features as well as the proposed infrastructure improvements;
Assess and provide civil engineering recommendations for water and wastewater systems to support the master plan;
Assess and provide recommendations for electrical supply and distribution systems to support the master plan;
Assess and provide recommendations on solid waste infrastructure and methodologies to support the master plan;
Generate conceptual-level cost estimate for the project.
