Community Playground Master Plan, Mongolia

We are excited to work with Joint Christian Services (JCS) and its local partners in Khovd, Mongolia, to provide a master plan and conceptual building designs for a new Child Development Centre located in a public park at the heart of the western Mongolian town.
JCS’s vision is to create an accessible, environmentally responsible space where all children, particularly those with additional and complex needs, can learn, grow, and play year-round.
The ministry is grounded in principles of creation care and community inclusion and will feature classrooms and a large indoor playground designed to be welcoming to children of all abilities. The vision is to support the holistic development of children through education, play, and exposure to the natural world, despite the region’s harsh winters and extreme pollution levels.

Project Scope

The scope for this project would include the development of a conceptual master plan and conceptual building plans, including classrooms, walkways, green spaces and play areas for children and community members with disabilities. This project would also focus on the development and integration of both indoor and outdoor green spaces to provide the community members with areas to enjoy year round despite the artic conditions in the winter months. With the additional support of HVAC, electrical and civil engineering this plan would include plans to meet the projected heating, water, sewer, and electrical demands of the community play centre.
