EMI is excited to invite you to serve alongside our team in developing a masterplan for future development of the PCEA Chogoria Hospital in Chogoria, Kenya.

Project Scope

PCEA Chogoria Hospital is a mission hospital located in central Kenya, at the base of Mt. Kenya, owned and operated by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).

The hospital first opened its doors in 1922 when Doctors from the hospital in Kikuyu, Kenya decided to move to the community. The first building was built in 1926 and since then it has continued to grow into a full-service hospital. Currently it is has a capacity of over 300 beds and is the main referral hospital for the eastern region.

This project along with similar ones to PCEA Kikuyu and PCEA Tumutumu hospitals is in collaboration with Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF). A longtime supporter of the PCEA hospitals in East Africa, MBF provides partnership, resources and expertise to existing ministries in the healthcare field in order to improve and expand services, continue the work of the gospel in the communities, and seek to bring economic sustainability to the organizations.

Our team will come alongside MBF in providing like-minded architectural and engineering services in support of a site development masterplan that address both current challenges and future growth aspirations. We will interact with hospital staff, patients and the community as we develop the masterplan and lean on local and international design standards for healthcare as we provide recommendations for growth and development of the site.

Thank you for considering this trip and lending your skills to serve the Chogoria community!
