Project Scope
The volunteer structural engineer will join EMI Cambodia for a three-week period to provide technical support and mentorship to the engineering team. The primary focus will be assisting with structural design and analysis for ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and EMI standards. The volunteer will review existing designs, offer recommendations for improvement, and collaborate with the design team to address technical challenges. In addition to project work, the volunteer will lead training sessions on structural design principles, analysis methods, and relevant software tools. They will share best practices and provide one-on-one mentoring during project tasks to strengthen the team’s technical skills. The volunteer will also help develop internal resources such as design guidelines and calculation templates, while offering insights on international standards and innovative approaches. Throughout the trip, the volunteer will work closely with EMI Cambodia staff to adapt training to project needs, participate in team meetings, and contribute to improving engineering processes.
