A ministry client has requested assistance from EMI Canada to help with Civil Engineering Site Works, Landscaping Architecture, and Interior Design for a Camp and Retreat Center project located in a Muslim majority country found in Central Asia.
The project will meet the needs of the local Christian population of children, college students, widows, orphans, athletes, and lepers.
Project Scope
Construction of the site and buildings has been underway since 2024, and now the main lodge is currently under construction over the summer of 2026. A government ratified local architecture firm has been providing detailed drawings for construction of the main buildings in the form of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. However, the client has requested external assistance from EMI to supplement the design with the remaining work on the site. They've asked for a team with key knowledge and experience in the areas of civil engineering site works, developing final grading, conducting construction layout survey, landscaping architecture, and interior design for the main lodge.
The EMI team will be taking a hands-on approach to the design with the understanding that we will be entering into an active construction site currently in progress. This unique opportunity will give the EMI team time to develop the preliminary plans during the trip in tandem with the local contractor and client in a quasi-Integrated Design Delivery (IDD) approach. This model will allow for efficient implementation and iteration of any works designed by the EMI team. The team will endeavor to complete a preliminary design of the scope of work by the end of the project trip timeframe, but also to provide any further design clarifications in the weeks and months following the trip up to the submission of the Final Deliverables in December 2026.
