EMI MENA is seeking an electrical engineer to join our team and start our electrical department to meet the growing need for electrical design in our projects.

While leading the electrical department is the priority, you will also be a Project Leader as needs arise. Project Leaders are the face of EMI to our ministry clients and the volunteers who participate in our ministry. They share their talents and experience with others, and lead others into doing design work as Christ's disciples.

Project Leaders bring to the table professional experience; commitment to appropriate, sustainable design; familiarity with crossing cultures; and a vibrant walk with Christ. They have a unique opportunity to influence and invest in international and local design professionals, and EMI's interns and fellows.

Join our EMI MENA team and use your profession to serve others!

In addition to the typical EMI Staff prerequisites, candidates for this position must have:

  • Participated on an EMI Project Trip within the last 12 months.

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with ability to mentor others and effectively lead teams.
  • Working knowledge of computers and demonstrated experience in the use of standard business productivity and design software.

The following are essential responsibilities of the position:

  • Assess and analyse existing electrical infrastructure and identify issues and remedies
  • Provide electrical engineering designs, calculations, and drawings at the building and site level
  • Provide peer reviews of electrical designs
  • Coordinate with other EMI offices to develop and maintain electrical standards
  • Project-related travel 2-3 times per year
  • Lead or co-lead international design teams on project trips for client ministries, including:

    • Recruiting volunteers to complete the design team
    • Manage project scheduling, logistics, and finances
  • Train and mentor interns and staff in electrical engineering
  • Engage in spiritual and professional development through EMI's programs and opportunities.
