EMI is honored to partner with the Lillian Trasher Home, a ministry that has been serving orphans in and around Asyut, Egypt for over 100 years. The Lillian Trasher Home has cared for thousands of children over its history, and ministry leadership is continuing to envision the impact that the Home will have in the coming decades. As the Lillian Trasher Home hopes to care for children within smaller family units, they need a campus master plan that reflects this heart. This upcoming master planning project will help to equip the Lillian Trasher Home to best meet the physical, spiritual, and educational needs of their children.

Project Scope

Our EMI team will be assisting the Lillian Trasher Home with programming and master planning. The bulk of programming will occur with a small in-house team early in 2023, preparing our volunteer team for a more effective master planning trip in early March.

Our project trip includes a site survey and an assessment of existing structures and infrastructure. The scope for master planning includes the location of proposed buildings, repurposing of existing buildings on the site, considerations of currently unused spaces, and any required phasing. In addition to the master plan, our team will provide concept-level building designs for three to four (3-4) buildings on the campus. We will also provide conceptual water, wastewater, stormwater, and electrical infrastructure design.

The Lillian Trasher Home has a long history of serving the least of these in Egypt, and we are excited for the opportunity to be part of their Kingdom story in Egypt.
