EMI is glad to partner with Quality Schools International to provide a concept design for a new building on their campus. This new building will accommodate their growing student body, allow for more specialized classes and replace deteriorating spaces. The school serves local and international families by providing a high-quality learning environment with a focus on character development.
Project Scope
The EMI team that participates in this project will provide programming and concept-level design for a multi-storey academic building to include classrooms, library, administration, auditorium, laboratories and support spaces. The building will replace an existing structure with foundation concerns, but phasing of the work will be a major consideration, since the existing structure must remain in use until the new building is complete.
The site has access to municipal utilities, including municipal hot water for radiator heating, but assessment of the suffciency of current connections and recommendations for future demands will be needed. The school has expressed interest in considering a centralized cooling system.
QSI hopes to submit to the local municipality for initial planning approvals upon completion of the trip, so significant progress in development of appropriate drawings will be needed. To this end, the team will include an EMI architect with drafting and visualization skills to assist the volunteer architect(s) with production during the trip.
Access to quality education for their children is a key consideration impacting the sustainability and longevity of workers serving around the world. Your skills can help support this vital service to families in North Macedonia.
