EMI is honored to partner with Eglise Inkuru-Nziza Church as they embark on a journey to establish a new healthcare center in a remote north west location of Rwanda.

The ministry began in Rwanda in 1960 when its founders arrived from Burundi to build the kingdom of God. Upon reaching Kigali, they saw a great need for people to move beyond nominal religion into a genuine relationship with God. They began spreading the Gospel through radio broadcasts, biblical tracts, film screenings, and discipleship courses.
Since its inception, the number of believers has continued to grow.
Today, Inkuru Nziza Rwanda comprises 178 churches with 21,000 members across the country. The ministry also operates a theological training center, three primary schools, one secondary school, ten nursery schools, a hospital, a project supporting orphans and widows, and eight additional projects supported by Compassion International, serving at least 2,000 children.

Recognizing the need for a healthcare center in Gisoro, Rwanda, the ministry is taking the first steps toward its development. Their mission is to promote the well-being of individuals and families by providing accessible, high-quality healthcare for children, adolescents, and adults. The center will prioritize trust, respect, confidentiality, and compassion while offering essential medical services to the remote hilltop community.

Project Scope

Our team's scope will include development of a long-term masterplan, conceptual building design, and site infrastructure planning.

  • Programming: The virgin soil and new healthcare concept to the church will require much briefing and visioning as a team, to draw out requirements of spaces required.
  • Site Masterplan: Translating the values, design, systems , human scale into a well thought through site master plan.
  • Conceptual Building Design: Healthcare requires good health care system understanding, good design, understanding flow. The outcome will include building concepts that include floor plans, elevations, and basic 3D images for identified Phase 1 infrastructure and buildings.
  • Site Infrastructure Planning: This site in particular requires good structural and civil input for assessing water, wastewater, retailing walls, electrical provision for the site with much slope settled on the hilltop.
