Scudder Memorial Hospital (SMH) is a non-profit Christian hospital that has been operating in southern India for 157 years and as such holds a crucial role in India’s medical landscape. The hospital, with the assistance of EMI, is seeking to build on this foundation with further development of their site – optimizing vacant land whilst expanding and modernizing their facilities.
Project Scope
EMI's project team will assess buildings and systems on site in support of new and broader development. Though the hospital is the primary tenant of the land, the Church also operates a Nursing College and small Applied Health Sciences University on the site as well as provides housing for staff and students. Our team will engage in programming efforts in support of developing an updated master plan for site development, layout conceptual architectural plans and 3Ds for the new hospital and provide recommendations for new or expanded engineering services to support the development.
Through this effort and subsequent construction projects, SMH aims to meet the evolving healthcare needs of their community by:
Improving Infrastructure: providing state-of-the-art healthcare services that cater to the growing medical needs of the region.
Expanding Capacity: increasing the number of beds and available facilities.
Enhancing the Patient Experience: creating a comfortable, efficient, and technologically advanced environment.
Supporting Medical Missions: allowing healthcare professionals to reach more communities and underserved populations.
Focusing on Sustainability: in order to operate efficiently, reduce its environmental impact, maintain long-term viability and be a good steward of kingdom resources.
Would you consider collaborating with EMI in helping SMH develop their vision for the future of Scudder Memorial Hospital and realize their hope for increased impact in southern India.
