Project Scope
Living Water International is a ministry that focuses on providing drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services to communities in need. LWI in Rwanda has requested support in providing water for a community of about 35,000 individuals, which lies about an hour's drive away from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The community lives on a hill and a stream flows at the bottom of the hill, which LWI desires to capture and use to provide clean drinking water for the inhabitants of the community.
The elevation difference between the stream and the top of the hill is about 350 metes, which requires that the water be pumped using a pump station, which needs to be designed. Layout of the pipe network needs to be determined, and treatment methods for this water in order to prevent disease.
