The Bible Society of Australia exists to impact and influence Australia and the world by opening the Bible to all people everywhere by all people everywhere by all means possible. Partnered with the Bible Society of the South Pacific, they are developing a purpose-built Bible translation centre in Luganville, Vanuatu. The facility will serve as a national and regional hub to support Church and Community Based Bible Translation (CBBT), enabling Scripture translation, training, and collaboration across one of the most linguistically diverse nations in the world.
Vanuatu has over 110 languages, many of which still lack access to Scripture in their heart language. Translation efforts are currently constrained by the absence of a neutral, permanent, and appropriately designed facility to host translation teams, training programs, and collaborative work between partner organizations and local churches.
EMI will provide conceptual design of a Bible translation centre and ensure the facility's long-term resilience against Vanuatu's tropical coastal conditions, cyclones, and earthquakes.
Project Scope
