The Business Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of EMI Canada by identifying, cultivating, and managing strategic partnership and revenue-generating opportunities. Under the direction of the Development Director and in collaboration with the Executive Director, this role focuses on prospect research, relationship development, opportunity analysis, proposal preparation, and supporting the growth of corporate, organizational, and institutional partnerships. The Business Development Coordinator is part of the EMI Canada Development & Communications team and may support other aspects of the department’s work from time to time.
EMI Canada is seeking a self-motivated and organized professional with a passion for advancing the mission of EMI Canada. 

This opportunity is a full time salaried position. 

Qualifications

In addition to the typical EMI Staff prerequisites, candidates for this position must have:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or other undergrad studies in relevant field
  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, other internet applications and ability to learn and proficiently use databases (CRM)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with communicating via telephone including cold calling
  • Experience in similar role, preferably in charitable or non profit fundraising
  • Experience with grant management software (Grant Advance or other)
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for job related duties
Responsibilities

The following are essential responsibilities for this position:

  • Spiritual and professional discipleship through EMI’s programs and opportunities.
  • Strategizing and planning events, public speaking engagements, networking, developing pipeline of clients, and recruiting interns
  • Assist the Development Director with administration, fundraising initiatives
  • Coordinate and execute grant management; research, drafting and editing, maintaining records
  • Collaboration with Development Director to set and monitor fundraising goals
  • Relationship building with donors and prospective clients
