With heavy but hope-filled hearts, we wish to let you know that Allen Adrian, who served as EMI Canada’s Intern Coordinator, passed away peacefully on April 21, after a valiant fight to overcome the long-term effects of Cystic Fibrosis. Allen’s health challenges did not preclude him from a full career as a highly-regarded geoscientist in the oil and gas industry, primarily with Shell Canada. When he was retired from Shell, he continued work in his field by establishing his own company. Pursuing his passion for Christ and his desire to help others know Him, Allen went back to school at Ambrose University to acquire a Master’s degree in Leadership and Ministry. This propelled him into a new type of vocation that saw him serving at his church as Director of Global Impact, and, for the past two years, serving part-time at EMI Canada as Intern Coordinator.
Allen was energized by the opportunity to help young design professionals get involved in missions, and brought a warm, mentoring style to his work, demonstrating great care for people. Our team fondly and gratefully remembers Allen’s contributions to our daily devotions, his faith-filled attitude, and his servant heart. His life and his faith are an inspiration to us, and we thank God for the gift of working alongside Allen.
Please join us in prayer for Allen’s wife, Melissa, and children, Zac, Heather, Vaughn, Megan, and David.
