Mid-January to Mid-May 2025

Interns in the Senegal office enjoy a rich, cross-cultural, communal living experience. Our intern flat is located above the office. You will most likely be sharing your living space with like-minded interns who are just beginning their careers or young professional staff in their first years of work.

We offer our ministry partners design services as well as some construction management or owner's representative services, so working in the Senegal office may give you will have the opportunity to visit active construction projects and offer design support to our construction managers.

While specific projects for this term have not been confirmed yet, our most likley projects involve the planning and design of primary school in Ivory Coast, a possible multi-level Church design in the capital city of Dakar, and the possible construction of a campus for vulnerable children. Most of the projects that we work on are within Senegal, but we are also involved with ongoing projects in several West African countries.

You will work on a diverse inter-disciplinary team made up of experienced architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, construction managers, and office administrators and will have the valuable opportunity to learn disciplines other than your own.

Senegal is a wonderful destination in West Africa for tourism and there will be multiple opportunities to travel to Dakar and tour Goree Island, the city life, Cultural Museum, there is a game park roughly 45 minutes away from the EMI office. Situated near the beach, our office staff enjoy swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, and other outdoor activities in our coastal town of Saly.
