Help Support EMI's Earthquake Relief Efforts in Myanmar
On March 28, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar’s Sagaing Region, followed shortly by a 6.4 magnitude aftershock. With the epicenter located near Sagaing and Mandalay cities, the impact has been devastating. Roads have buckled, buildings have collapsed, and millions have felt the effects of strong to violent shaking. Approximately 200,000 people are now homeless, with nearly 49,000 homes destroyed.
Sagaing Region is home to 1.3 million internally displaced persons (IDPs)—a third of Myanmar’s total displaced population. Even before the quake, 20 million people needed humanitarian assistance across the country. The disaster has pushed at least 2 million more into urgent need.
EMI is responding
We are sending a small assessment team to the region to support earthquake recovery efforts. Our focus will be on damage assessments and training local communities in Build Back Safer practices to promote long-term resilience. We've already connected with numerous churches and ministries that were directly impacted and are working together to provide meaningful support.
Your Support Matters
We invite you to partner with us in this urgent mission. Your donations will help mobilize training resources, provide technical expertise, and offer hope to communities that need it most.
